Call for Sponsorship

We are seeking industry participation, partnership, and sponsorship for 2024 ACM SIGCAS/SIGCHI Computing and Sustainable Societies (COMPASS) conference, which will be held from July 8 to 11, 2024 in New Delhi, India.

ACM SIGCAS/SIGCHI Conference on Computing and Sustainable Societies (COMPASS) is the premier conference focusing on work at the intersection of computing and sustainable development. Every year, the conference draws roughly 250 participants (150 in-person and 100 virtual) from around the globe, from a broad array of disciplines including computer and information sciences, social sciences, environmental sciences, and engineering. The conference includes long and short research papers, posters, demos, panels, workshops, and open sessions on: Artificial Intelligence, Machine-Learning and Data Science for Sustainable Societies; Systems and IoT for Sustainable Societies; HCI, Design and Critical Perspectives; Development, Economics and Policy; Environment, Sustainability and Climate Change; and Technology, Media, and Social Practice. Full papers that are accepted by the ACM Journal on Computing and Sustainable Societies are also presented at the conference.

COMPASS’ primary audience is computing professionals, researchers, practitioners, and students who apply the latest computing techniques and tools to sustainability goals such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Consequently, the research findings presented at COMPASS provides operationalisation of policies, making them applicable to practitioners and policy makers which supports the growth of sustainable societies worldwide. The community has a particular commitment to approaches and research that address the challenges faced by under-represented and marginalised communities. In addition, it explicitly promotes multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary research and practice that address key challenges for sustainable societies including, but not limited to, equity, health, education, poverty, accessibility, conservation, climate change, energy, infrastructure, and economic growth.

COMPASS is a non-profit conference that is co-sponsored by SIGCAS, the ACM Special Interest Group that addresses the social and ethical consequences of widespread computer usage, and SIGCHI, the leading international community of students and professionals interested in research, education, and practical applications of Human–Computer Interaction. COMPASS seeks to lower barriers to participation by keeping conference costs low and supporting travel grants for participants who would otherwise not be able to attend, particularly graduate students and scholars from the Global South.

As a sponsor, you will have opportunities to engage with a wide array of computer science, AI/ML, data science, information systems, human-computer interaction, and other interdisciplinary researchers and professionals working in the fields of computing and sustainable development. We have multiple sponsorship tiers available (details below) and would also welcome the opportunity to discuss custom options that might facilitate engagement between your company and the COMPASS community.
